Paranoia it was. Drove the truck for a while again and all is fine. 16* seems to be good. No knock retard and it pulls strong. Here is a vid of a 2nd gear pull on the freeway. You can see that my boost gauge always shows 1-1.5lbs higher than the scanner says. The MAP sensor read this pull at 9.5-10psi.

Anyways, I noticed that I'm losing fuel pressure through the pull so it looks like my 255 is begging for mercy. I'm going to drop the boost to 9psi and drive it until I get the new pumps. Maybe I will get it on the dyno when I get the new pumps and see what it will make with these 850cc injectors.

The first race day at the speedway is January 24th so I'm trying to get some stuff done by then. I ordered assassin bars this morning but they don't have the parts to build them until next week. I should have them in time to run at the track.

Next thing is my fuel system. I have two Walbro 450 E85 pumps waiting to go in. I'll need to get that done ASAP since my 255 isn't keeping up. I'll need some help from you guys on how to build it. Right now I'm running the 255 with a ractronix hot wire kit. I'm guessing that I will need another hotwire kit for the second pump and a hobbs switch. What else do I need to wire up the second pump?

Also I have 20ft of -8 braided line I was planning to use. But that was when I was planning on using 91 octane and meth. Do you guys think -8 will handle the volume I need for E85 and 20+ lbs of boost?

Truck appears to be running strong, everything seems to be real tight and in order!

What rear gears are you running? How does it drive when it is out of boost, like a normal 4.8L?

Right now I'm running 3.42's. I'll most likely go to 3.73 or 3.90 once I start seeing some track times from this truck. I want it to be a solid 10 second truck. The 4.8L does okay out of boost. It is only 9.4scr so I can't ask for much from it. But again, it pulls its own weight. Its still a V8

I'm going to head down to the shop today sometime and study my fuel bucket. I'll post some pics and see what you guys think about how to build the dual walbro set up.

Wow that truck pulls hard with those 3.42s I would have guessed you had at least 4.10s in her.

I'm stoked to see what you come up with for the fuel situation!!! Pics please haha

Is dual pump set-up really the best option?

That's why I was asking... I really don't know! It just seems like the dual pump setup could be a major reliability issue...
Is the only other option really just a sumped cell and external pump??
