Wow man what a roller coaster thread !!

First congrats and kudos to you on your hard work and popping your cam / LS cherry , it's an awesome feat to do this yourself , and have everything run good when your done , good job buddy !

Thanks for the pics , I've not looked too much at the DOD top ends ,

Also can you tell me more about those head studs ? I've not heard of them before , but would like to hear your opinion on them and where you bought them if I missed it .

And as to the roller coaster comment it sucks to see such a great looking truck get hurt by a chucking Ford . Hope it all works out for ya bud .

Thanks for the comments man. It has been a roller coaster of a week for sure! I was so excited to fire it up and hear it run great, then 12 hours later to have it possibly totaled! Jeez...

The head studs are the infamous Ebay studs. I did a lot of research on them before I made the purchase. It seems like a lot of the failures or stretching on them is due to improper torque sequence or value. I knew that if I didn't have any trouble installing them, they would hold way more abuse than I ever intend to throw at it. A lot of guys on LS1tech are using them and a few on here. Denmah over there strictly uses these and he throws some serious power at them. I had already blown my budget on the build and the studs were the last thing I needed to purchase so I just went ahead and pulled the trigger on these guys.

No funny noises or anything when installing them. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the product and the value. As far as durability while boosted, well, HOPEFULLY I can test that out for y'all soon.

Good news guys! Its not totaled! $8019 worth of damage though. It will take them about 20 days to repair. I am also glad to be getting some other body stuff done too, like a dent in the tailgate courtesy of my wife.

Awesome. With a number that low I take it there was no damage to the suspension, axle, or frame. Thats great to hear.

That is good news about your truck not being totaled. That POS that ran into you though..............its about time it hits the junkyard, right where it belongs.

Yea no damage to anything except body panels. They are using all oem parts too which I am excited about. And that rear wheel is getting rechromed.

Yea I'm glad its not a total either. I was kind of going through in my head what I would buy if it was totaled and I didn't keep it, but I have no idea what I would do.

I got in a new microphone for my nikon so I'll be posting an idle video as soon as I get the truck back. This cam is pretty mellow like I said a few posts ago.

After doing my truck this past weekend, i have new respect for those who have done this swap with the engine in. I am still pretty young but i hurt just about everywhere. I think i might do something stupid if someone were to total my truck now. Glad to hear it will be back and going soon though.

FYI...my tensioner wasnt broken either and it stayed.
