Default New truck, new build, slow progress....

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've been on here (some of you may have seen me over on FSC), but I figured now is a good time to start a thread on my new vehicle.

In June I sold my 96 and upgraded to a 2010 silverado ccsb z71 with 29k on on it. Had it for about 30 minutes before I took the ugly pinstripe off of it

Here she is about to roll of the lot

Then a few weeks later I debadged the tailgate, minus the bowtie. Here are a few pics of the truck at the lake before a little wakeboarding

Then I got my tails and 3rd brake light smoked. For some reason it looks uneven in this pic, but in person its not

Next came 25% tint to match the rears

Then mounted my rigid 20" SR hybrid light bar

I will be installing 6000k HID lows and fogs soon to match

Next up on the list was to black out the emblems front and rear

And finally remove the z71 decal from the bed

I also swapped the stock license plate light bulbs with white led's and it looks MUCH better. no pics yet though..

Next on the list (hopefully soon) will be to swap the chrome rear bumper out for one that's painted to match, put on a Cognito UCA leveling kit, some black 20's, 305/55's, and put in some Focal components to replace me not-so-amazing non bose stockers. Since I'm on my first salary out of college, money isn't exactly growing on trees, but I am saving what extra money I have and putting it toward my truck. I also have been getting good deals from friends and family, which has been helping. Until I have some more updates, enjoy!

Also, since purchasing the truck, I have moved from my parents' house in Colorado and now live in Santa Monica, CA and lost my garage... so if anyone knows of a place in CA where I can work on it, let me know!!

I got mad respect for you, it took me six months to remove pinstripes, then another two weeks to do the other side!

Hahaha they HAD to go. It was 100+degrees the day I bought it so I just pulled them off real quick, no residue left or anything.

Finally an update. I have been so busy with work that I have had little to no time to work on my truck. That and the fact that I had to pay a $500 deductible when it got hit in the lot at work (hit and run), I haven't been able to put much money towards it either. Today I ordered a Kenwood KFC-XW1200F shallow sub, Alpine mrx-v70 5-channel amp, and Focal Access 165 A1 component speakers. I decided I want to stick with my stock head unit so I didn't have to deal with steering wheel control harnesses, bluetooth, xm, etc. I'm mounting a bass **** on the dash in the opening next to my traction control button so I don't have to go through my head unit settings to change the bass. Pacific Stereo is building me a custom box to go under the right side of my rear seat this week and everything will (hopefully) be installed by the end of next week. Can't wait to have a cleaner sounding system! Will post pics when it's all done.

Yesterday I took my truck to get my sub and amp installed.I really wish I would have been able to do the install myself, but unfortunately don't have the time or space right now to do it. I must say I am pretty surprised with how much this shallow Kenwood sub puts out. It doesn't rattle everything apart like my two L7's did in my suburban, but I'm glad I don't have that much power in this truck. I don't have the speakers in yet, but the amp is hooked up and even having my stock non bose speakers amped has really made them sound a lot better. I just hope I can get my focals installed soon so I can really enjoy my new system. Here are a few pics:

Are you sill plates OEM?? I like the Chevrolet on the back section like that. Don't think GMC does that.

Yes they are OEM. I think the only reason I have them is because I got the Z71 appearance package. My gauges are different than normal too.
