Nice. Looks a little like my buddy Kenny’s truck. He came over and I was blown away at how much shorter the short beds are lol. I had just gotten use to the long beds now so seeing a short bed next to my truck just looked kinda funny.

yeh its a good bit of a difference, there getting harder n harder to find as well. Mine is a true 5.3 single cab. Alot I've seen are v6 trucks converted. I plan to hang onto mine.

Good call I honestly feel like they are only gonna go up in value honestly. I was happy with what I got this truck for and don’t mind the long bed at all. I think once it has a posi in the back it should hook pretty well till it gets turned up a bit. I wanted to get the chasis dialed in before throwing more power at it.

man honestly the true trac and Moser axles have held up for me with no issues, I fought with shims a bit because I hadn't even built a rear end before (was all imports before the truck with the exception of a few bolt on trucks that didn't need anything in the rear) but now that I understand how it works its the way to go. I looked up the parts that are in the aftermarket rear ends and it didnt seem worth it to me so I took my chances with just buying the true trac and Moser axles and they havent failed me yet, and ive transbrake launched my truck a few times.

put lowering springs on the front today. Didnt drop it what I was hoping for but it rides really nice now. Also replaced the bushings on the sway bar links with some newer ones I had laying around. The ones on it were cracking out pretty bad. Feels allot tighter in the corners but absolutely needs a limited slip lol. Even on the little it’s making right now it frys one tire off all of 1st and 2nd. I have a eBay limited slip I’m gonna throw in there for the time being. I know my current spider gears already have a decent amount of pitting in them. I’m starting to think my cheap map sensor possibly doesnt read right. Seems like the truck is hitting about 3-4lbs on the boost gauge but map sensor reads only 109.5kpa at peak and key on engine off shows 105kpa to start. I’m gonna try to see if I can rescale it to get it to read properly.

Cleaned up the dusty old frame. Repainted the calipers. Lowering springs installed, although they didn’t really lower it anything maybe 1/2” but the truck rides super nice and tight now. Double checked the alignment and tow was about 1-16-1/8th too much tow in so I adjusted that. I should probably add some castor into the alignment but I really like how this truck feels in the corners.

Front could be 1” lower for sure. I’m also running a fairly small tire on this truck 29” od.

I’d leave the height alone. Looks great where it’s at.

Yeah I think I’m going to. Theres about a 3 finger gap from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender. The truck rides and handles awesome though and still has no issue clearing speedbumps or anything like that.i guess I was just surprised the “lowering springs” didnt really lower it but they definitely are an increase in spring rate over the stock springs.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. I really like the wheel and tire setup I used on this truck. I’m excited to get the limited slip in it soon. I just ordered a carrier bearing shim kit since I was running pretty low on them after the last 3 rear ends I setup (4 if you count the first one I did in my prerunner that got wore out from lack of fluid, not breaking it in properly and the gears had allot of run out from the start)

once the shims come in doing the rear should be pretty easy if it’s anything like how my s10 went.

I still need to do the pump, relay and super servo, I should probably just knock out the super servo for now cause it’s a pretty quick job and I have faith it will help keep the trans alive. Also kinda wanted to throw a new filter in the trans and add a sonnax .500” boost valve in there. The trans currently handles the boost well so that’s a good sign.

put my super servo in today. Was straight forward just a pain to get the original out after getting the snap ring off. Trans seems to be working good so far, I kinda didn’t know how the piston assembly went so I looked at their pictures and kinda hoped I had it right lol. Cant wait to get the limited slip in this thing I did a 2nd gear pull from a roll and it was spinning one tire at 70 lol. Truck is feeling good though and I’ve been super happy with it.
