I've been lurking around here for a while and i've built a few trucks with the help of this site. So I decided i'd like to document my current build in case I could help someone else. I sold my WS6 and bought this truck as a project. Its a 2000 RCSB originally v6 4l60e with an HD front end. It came with an LQ4 and 4l80e as well as alot of extra parts.
I originally intended to just swap the LQ4 and 80e in and spray them without touching them... One bent connecting rod later I was forced to go through it. I will be sticking with a stock bottom end, replacing bearings and rings, as well as studding the engine. I will be leaving the 80e stock for now. I will am using a BTR stage 4 camshaft and spring kit, sending my 317s to PRC, and running a holley HI Ram as well as the Holley Dominator EFI system. I have the engine apart now and ready for the machine shop. Once it's back, I will reassembly. Now for pics.

Cool man. What are the specs of the cam and are you planning boost or what are your end goals with the truck?

 

Specs are 235/242 .621"/.592". Goals for this season are around 650 to the wheels on spray. Next season maybe a 408 build havent decided yet. Im not sure when I want to make it completely un streetable.

I totally changed my mind on the engine for this build. Its gonna be a stock bottom end LQ4 with 243 heads, possibly milled, and a BTR stage 4 truck Cam. Still with 4l80e, holley Hi ram, Holley EFI, and nitrous. Here are the parts and the way the truck sits right now.
