Well as some of you may know, the trusty 'ole 5.3 gave up the ghost last night (12/12/08)

Broken piston before the 1000' mark and still went 12.5 at almost 111.... With a 2.1 60' and made 460/475 on just 6psi.

The old combo was:
2000 5.3L (140K)
KBRacing full intercooled kit
MP T-70 turbo @ 6psi
60lb injectors
255 pump
224/227 113+3 cam
918 springs
Yank SS3600
FLT lvl-5
3.73's /G80

New setup:
Forged iron 5.7L
Same turbo kit
MP T-76 turbo @ ~15psi?
60lb inj + meth
Dual in-tank 255's
GT 2-3 cam (may be changed)
WCCH stage II 317 heads
Precision 3000 converter
Fresh FLT lvl-5 70E
3.73s with tru-trac

We will see how it runs. I'm not looking to be the fastest anything, or "only one to do...." I just want a solid reliable combo that's faster than most everything around, very driveable, rather stealth

Sounds good. Is the hot kit going to work on the new motor? What are you going to do with the T-70?

The kit will fit on the new setup just like it did on the last.

I'm either going to work something out with Kyle on a trade-in type deal since this things only got about 1000 miles on it or sell it outright. Not sure yet, either way, this is pretty much a brand new turbo.

Sounds like a solid build. Too bad you couldn't of picked up Blownchevy's long block. would have saved you a little time if nothing else. GL with the build.

Oh yeah. I'm keeping an eye on this build. I want to build the same long block when my 5.3 gives up. How many miles are on your current FLT?

I like the way u think. Ya just gotta be faster than most, not all. And subtle.

As in 5.7 iron? What do those come in stock? Is a 70e a direct bolt in on 2wd truck?
