I'd say stock oil pulp and water pump are fine.
China studs are good
Looks like you have a good list. I would only add new motor mounts. I didn't replace them w mine with 100k miles.
I have to replace the pump anyway so was not sure if i should upgrade. Ill just get a stock replacement. Have ARP head studs coming with the DOD delete kit. Trying to have everything i need before starting. Adding motor mounts to the list. Thanks.
Parts are starting to show up. Getting excited but pistons take about 3 weeks to make. So wont be doing anything til they show up. Then the machine shop will probably be another few weeks. This is what circle D recommends for stall converter. What do you guys think. I dont know anything about them but sounds about right since I have to tow camper sometimes.
We could try a tight 258mm converter. This would get us in the mid 2K footbrake RPM which should be great for this sized turbo and still be decent for towing use. For lockup, I would recommend you opt for the triple disk. Thougths?
Got my pistons today. Going to send the block off to ft Collins in about 2 weeks. I am pretty sure I will have them assemble the short block. I have to much money in it now to risk doing it myself.
Decided to try and make this ugly truck intake look better for the new engine. First lesson is melted hot intake material will melt a good hole in your flesh when it lands on you. Lol. Figure I will get it fairly smoothed out then put on a few layers of fiberglass to cover up the holes. Hopefully it will stick and be strong enough.
This little project is taking up way too much time. I'm definitely no body guy guessing at least 2-3 more hours of filler and sanding before I'm close to a smooth finish.
