Not 100% for sure yet, but pretty sure no more stock builds for this project. As much as I hate the truck sitting, I'll probably go forward with a forged setup. Been pricing parts all day.

347c.i. or 370c.i. comin up

My guess if he never opened up the rings gaps it probably popped off part of a ring land and the mayhem began and ended very quickly

Hard to say right now. Ring gaps were opened up.

I think it just ripped the pin out of the piston. Who knows lol

Maybe this is an indication of why you were having issues making the power you were looking for.

Looking forward to the forged build!!!

Hard to say really. All the plugs always looked even so I don't think we were down any holes. Had a couple ideas of why it didn't make any power and we were going to try some stuff this weekend on the dyno to see if it picked up. Kinda glad it happened on the road in the open instead of in my buddy's shop with all his cars and who knows how many people.

Oh well.

Slowly disassembling the engine now and gathering parts to get it going again. Not in too big of a hurry. It's HOT

Next up:
347" or 370"
forged pistons
forged rods
LS9 gaskets
LS7 lifters
GM High volume oil pump

Speed Inc. TU1 or TU2 cam or JFR 218 Isky Cam
Methanol kit
Nitrous Express nitrous plate

CK Performance 4L80 trans brake valve body
3.42 gears
New tires. Undecided on 28x10.5-15 Hoosier Slicks or 275/60-15 MT Drag Radials

Why are you going away from the procomp studs? Im fixing to tear into my engine in the near future too and was planning on doing the ebay thing for bolts, studs, rings and bearings.
