My 2007 Silverado Build...again
#521
Parts are startin to roll in. Got the a1000, regulator, boost gauge, head studs, PAC-1218 springs, 02 LS6 cam, rings, bearings. I ordered everything else I need to make it run again. All the fittings and line to complete my fuel system, Extreme Velocity carb hat, 2bar MAP, header wrap etc...
Trick will have my turbo kit finished this week sometime and I'll head down there to pick it up.
Still waiting on my CSU carb. I'm sending my regulator off today to have a sweet bracket built for it. I figure I'm at least two more weeks from firing this thing up again. I'm in no big hurry.
I've been plugging away in the mornings before I go to work at getting everything cleaned up to put the motor together. You can see from the pics how nasty everything was. Got the pistons all cleaned up, lifters cleaned up, crank cleaned up, block cleaned up, mains cleaned up, lifter trays, rockers and stands cleaned up. Everything is clean and ready to go together. Probably going to hone the cylinders and maybe slide some slugs in it if I have time tomorrow morning.
Some parts I've got coated so far. I also did my motor mounts and alternator and bracket. It looks pretty good. Going to do my piping the same way when I get it

Damn, that doesnt look good at all. Doesnt look too deep into the wall but who knows how much you would have to bore it out to clean that up. And that wouldnt go well with your idea of not spending too much on that motor if you have to machine and put new pistons in it.

Went and picked up a new motor this morning. It's a later 5.3 with the good rods in it and new 762 heads. COMPLETE for $250...When I say complete, I mean if I wanted to make my truck fuel injected again, I could. Intake, rails, injectors, full wiring harness...errthang. Plug it in and go. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Going to tear it apart, clean it up, put new rings and bearings in it and hopefully have it in the truck this weekend.
