Remove this nut and lift hood into (service) position.
Make sure you put something so the hood won't come down on your head
On my spare block I showed how my top bellhousing bolts were connected to my block. Note some bolts have a 13mm nut infront of the 15mm bolts. Also note a regular length deep socket won't fit you'll need a deeper than "normal" length socket on some of the 15mm.

After you use a pry bar and pry the block off the trans. Mine was easy because if you read I just got the transmission redone. You can lift the block out. My truck has a 4/6" drop and I didn't have to take off the front end just the bumper and I used a harbor freight 1 ton shop crane. $156
Dirty
After you remove the 6 15mm bolts the flexplate needs to be pry'd off. I'm keeping my flexplate because it is brand new pretty much. Im not going to admit how long it took me to figure out it just pops off with some force.

You know what I can't tell for sure looking at the original picture I will have to go home and see. It looks like it though. I didn't notice before because we were moving so fast trying to catch the game on. It looks like something is going on there.

Broke
It sure is. I don't know when this happened but the missing piece wasn't on the heads or valves or in the cylinder when I tore it apart.
