Talking "Loco Hombre"

I am in the planning stages of building a 98 hombre. Basically an S10. This will be my go fast ride so the trans selection will be based on what will perform at the strip. Research points to the glide. Any advice on doing this would be great.

Plans for the setup...
junkyard LS
ls9 gaskets and studs
222/226 59X/59X 116 cam and dual springs
150 shot until I can go turbo
built glide and 4k converter
explorer rear end ??? maybe
n20, cell, and battery in the rear of the bed

This is my first build without being limited to daily use so there is no telling where this will end up. Please give advice if you have knowledge that will help.

and i vote Glide since its gonna be a toy. 8.8" rear is plenty strong for that lil truck.

I just want a lighter platform to work with that I can mod without the limits of worry about driveability and truck use. No concerns about choosing cams, gears, and stall except which will perform best

I vote either twin ~68mm or a single 80-82mm
Your gonna have a Tbrake and 2step so you can go big on your turbo sizing for the top emd pull

Rear mount Magnum 80 with A2W in the bed ???
HSW 150 plate to spool it cuts off on hobbs when boost hits 5 lbs.

If you plan on driving this thing anywhere Id maybe go TH400 or 4L80E. If you just want to run it at the track then the glide would be cool.

Although, im a little bias to what I have in mind for my S10... Gonna make it somewhat of a pro touring truck when all said and done. Gonna do a 6.0 with a good mid-high range cam and probably 4L80E.
