Talk about persistence. I just could not put that much personal fab into the whipple I had. But then again I am not MGyver.

I posted some idle tuning questions on HP Tuners, I made an interesting observation in the last couple of posts, with pictures:

You can't tell where the die grinder got away on me, can you?

Next time I have the blower off, I'm going to add an area to the TB mount and cut a slot in the throttle like the stock one.

I saw your thread on HPT last night and it got me wondering, why did they design the 102 with those size ports in the first place? And what will opening those up the way you did allow you to do?

At startup, the computer was holding the IAC wide open until the engine got to like 89 degrees. It would not run when I put it in gear when it was cold, because the engine needs more air in gear, and it already was not getting enough.
To try and band-aid a fix, I cracked the throttle open a couple more degrees and did a TPS reset. Now it started and warmed up OK, but there was a terrible cruise-control effect on the road.
I can't guess why the hole is so small from FAST. It was big enough once the engine got to about 175 degrees.
I would like to see what the ports on a factory 4-bolt TB looks like.

Well I tested it this afternoon, OK so far, but whatever I did with my grinder makes a terrible sound from the IAC when it opens on a cold or cool start. It sounds like when you put a blade of grass between your thumbs and blow on it!
I guess I have to round off some of the sharp edges.

I forgot, drive by wire. Maybe they thought the holes were big enough, or maybe the noise mine makes is from the holes being big enough.

Did it help with the tuning problems?
