Currently with no tune and the cam, plus smaller overall diameter tires, I'm getting about 11.1L/100Km. I don't know what that equates to in mileage, sorry guys, but that's 90% city and I'm not exactly easy on it, plus it's getting cold now so I'm letting it idle a fair bit to warm up in the morning's, etc. Again, pretty happy with it.
You are in a 2,000 lb heavier truck with a 0.2L bigger engine and you are running similar times to me and getting better gas mileage to boot Maybe I should just quit this whole modding business

Thanks, a friend of mine owns "On-point Dyno" out of Aurora (basically Toronto), unfortunately, he had to reschedule from today, which is okay because it's cold and rainy and street tuning would've been terrifying.
Truck has been hanging around 14L/100km lately, been doing lots more city driving and lots more early morning warm-ups, wondering if the truck isn't maybe learning the cam a little better aswell? I'm anxious to get it tuned to say the least.
Blasphemy!
Haha, kidding, thank you!
Thank you very much! I had a vision in my head when I ordered the truck and had most of the suspension before the truck was even built so it's come together quickly for sure. I'm excited to settle the spending down a little over winter.
My new "muffler" came in today, DynoMax Bullet muffler, 3.5" in/out to match factory exhaust. Going to route it out in front of the right rear tire and hopefully kill some interior drone from the exhaust turning down directly after the cab as it is now. Not much of an update, but there one is. No tune yet. Soon.
Looks like about 21.2 mpg. That is insane. Makes my rcsb look like a pig. How are they getting such good fuel mileage out of these trucks? Is it the direct injection really helping out that much or cylinder deactivation or what? Really interested in this.......

Thanks, man!
Went into work this morning and installed up this Dynomax bullet, sounds pretty great at idle, definitely gives more notice to the cam in the truck, which it needed. I hacked up the factory tailpipe and made it exit the side, I refuse to spend money on an exhaust when I will be replacing it all with headers in the spring time. This should tide me over until then. I posted a video to YouTube, however, I'm really disappointed with the sound quality from my phone (go figure )
And here's a few pics of the same ol' truck from the last couple weeks. Going to go into winter mode with it soon, not exactly looking forward to that.

I appreciate that a lot, guys! Thank you!
Nothing exciting to report, Blizzaks and mud flaps have been installed, we got dumped on with snow pretty heavily last week, I intend to leave the truck hammered year round, it did great in 4wd a couple times last week so I can't see that being an issue.
Won't be too many exciting things (I don't think) for the next little while, need to recoup some money after blowing way over budget this summer. Hoping to get a wet kit on the truck, headers and a proper exhaust and some dyno time in the spring. Maybe coilovers and sway bars too, we'll see.
I'll post up some winter shots here shortly, it's depressing seeing the truck with chrome wheels on it again.

Well, as promised, here's some winter snaps so far. I traded my stock 20's for these 18" All-terrain wheels + cash over the summer, not particularily fond of them but they do for snow wheels. I put 265/50/18 Blizzak's on, so far I am astounded with this combination of 4x4 and snow feet, all while being substantially lower than factory.
Unfortunately, I've been having some real tough luck with this junk box lately. For starters, I've had this horrible rotational, vibrating type noise through the drivetrain when coasting on the highway essentially since I bought the truck. We finally figured out today it is coming from inside the transfer case. So tomorrow morning I'll be pulling that out and disassembling it, sigh. I'm glad we found the noise, it just feels like I have had this truck significantly apart once a month since I bought it. It's getting old, quick.
Second, I met up with my tuner last night to get the tune a little better since the cam has been installed, we only street tuned it and really I feel like we got nowhere. My tuner essentially appears to have no idea what he's doing when it comes down to EFILive, I know numerous cars that he has tuned and they all work incredibly well, I am just not convinced on his GM vehicle abilities. The truck for some reason is staying in open loop, I have no idea why. I suppose that's another issue I'll be looking into soon. This is wearing me out both mentally and physically. Far more hassle than it is worth to have a "cool" truck with a less-than-impressive cam in it.
