Default Here's my ongoing project...

Well I figured since I've started putting together the parts for my build and have somewhat of a plan I'll start documenting it so I can keep track of it and maybe you guys can too and tell me where I'm going wrong or where I can do better.

My truck is a 2008 Silverado CCSB 5.3 non flex fuel 106,000 miles on it as of 11/16/13.

The ultimate goal is once I get the DOD delete done and the trans swap done is a Trick stage 3 kit mated to a MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust most likely. Fuel system is still up in the air, leaning towards a Lonnie's double pumper. I've got a **** ton of AN fittings and a set of rails and a regulator from my old car I wouldn't mind using so maybe that will materialize.

Current mods are:
S&B CAI
Magnaflow
HPT tune
Lowering shackles and removed blocks

She's pretty well stock really, atleast as far as I'm concerned. I've never kept a vehicle this long and not modded it.

The plan right now is to do the DOD delete and cam swap together. So far I have the following parts for DOD delete, I still have a few to get together, haven't decided on a cam yet, leaning towards the TU1 from Speed Inc. Once I have a cam picked out I'll measure for proper pushrod length and get those as well.

Have:
4.8 valley cover
Brian Tooley .660" lift spring kit
LS7 lifters (probably going to end up running BTRs)
LS2 3 bolt cam gear
LS2 HD Timing Dampener
New GM lifter trays
Fabricated valve covers

Still need:
Cam
Pushrods
Timing chain
Oil pump - maybe
Trunion kit - maybe
Applicable bolts ( 3 bolts for cam, 4 bolts for lifter trays etc )

As for drivetrain I'll be running a 2000 Model 4L80E which I picked up yesterday 11/15/13 from a guy I work with. I'll have it gone through and rebuilt, most likely with a PBA rebuild kit and HD2. Haven't decided on what converter to run yet... single disk, multi disk... yank, circle d... etc etc.

Here's the trans as I picked it up.

I already have a cooler for the setup from a previous build and the fittings for the transmission also. I'll be running push lock hose and fittings for the cooler setup. I'll post pics of that once I get it all built.

Thanks fellas! Only thing that might change is selling or trading the crew can for a reg can NNBS to put this kind of power in.

Lol nice! I speak from exp, if you don't need the space... go for it. My crew back seats did nothing but collect dust, made my decision much easier to get back in to a reg cab. They're fun because they're pretty sporty right from the go.

Def gonna be a fun build no matter which cab configuration you decide to go with.

no doubt! seems like I clean my back seat out every Sunday and by Friday it's full of junk again.

These came in today, forgot to mention that I'd ordered them. Belltech 25003 lowering/lifting struts. I'll set them to lower 2" in the front.

Here's a few random pics of some parts and tools I've bought for the project. I had never put together AN lines at home before so I went ahead and bought -6 & -8 wrenches from Jegs that were on clearance and the vice jaws for AN fittings also.

These are VERY nice and a great tool to have for anyone working on AN stuff, if you don't have these and you work on braided line stuff, you are doing yourself wrong, order some now. I need to order a pair of those hose cutters like BlackGMC got.

These are the valve covers I am going to run, I decided to run fab'd covers simply for the ease of welding on some fittings and hooking up hoses to run a pcv setup, not really for flash or fancy or anything. Honestly I may not even use them.

I've got that same jack. You can't beat it for the price. Those struts are my next purchase. My front end is sitting about 1/2" higher as it looks yours is too.

No doubt on the jack, I went in when it was listed for $84 and he gave me a coupon made it $72!! Last jack I had was a craftsman 3 ton and it broke while lifting a truck I was working on and I spent a few days in the hospital because of it. So lesson learned!

The struts I got from suspension source, $183 I think, it was more but if you enter coupon code "fbthanks" you get either 10 or 15% off at purchase.
