the "goodbye letter" specifically said to tell his dad that this wasn't anything that he caused. who the hell knows. trying to figure out what's going through a depressed person's mind is pointless. as I understand, sometimes they know that the grief they feel is petty, or an over-reaction; but they just cant help but dwell on it. they can see the logical aspect of it, but it does not apply to what they feel.
