Geareater's Build Thread
Been reading through the forums for a while now, finally in the last few months I got the itch. Started with a stock 2004 5.3 Z71 with about 70k on the clock. Went big with a good deal on a low mileage LQ9 from the salvage yard in Holland.
Swapped in yellow springs and LS6 cam.
All buttoned up
Out with the old. Didn't really get many pictures of it going in because I ended up doing it alone. Went pretty quickly regardless. I threw in a 34" radiator and efans at this point too, I think I went with the Nelson harness. Also went with the 145 amp and underdrive pulley.
Shortly thereafter swapped on the TBSS intake with LS6 throttle body, plus the x-harness. Still trying to figure out where I want to permanently put that.
Then the hydroboost system with hydroboost ps pump.
As she sits today, just tonight I sprayed the front valence flat black. Have yet to take a picture though. I have a set of LPP headers in the mail somewhere, I'll be getting them installed next. From here, I'll be doing more research on either FI or NO2, and will be looking for a cheap 4l80e, and a better locker. I've installed a servo and raised the line pressure and shift points with my tune, my 60 has been doing me well, but its only a matter of time. I almost locked down a sweet trade for a P1SC1 kit but it fell through. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, just the standard 05+ truck efans, I got them from LKQ recycled parts.
Got my LPP Headers installed this weekend, only had a little hiccup with the front drive shaft ujoint bolts touching the driver side header, ball pin hammer fixed all that. Here's an open header video

The hydroboost is incredible. I've driven vehicles with vacuum powered brakes all my life, this is a difference of night and day. I encourage anyone to do that swap.

At the jy here outside Austin there were a few Suburbans and State Trooper Tahoes with the system in it, all you really need is the booster, pedal, and high pressure lines. I'm sure you could have one from a good jy around H-town within a couple hours. Everything else will work from your truck. Unfortunately all the yards around here like to cut their harnesses and hoses, its unacceptable. On Atomic's hydroboost swap thread I put the part number for the high pressure lines from Oreilly's for cheap, just takes a little tweaking to get them to fit. The whole swap including the new PS pump I got probably took about 3-4 hours.

My only real concern is regarding the master cylinder. My truck has the square looking resevoir whereas the Escalade has the larger rounded one. I have come across a couple posts of the master cylinder holes not lining up with the hydrobooster studs. I'm really hoping the two are interchangeable and just have different reservoirs.
