Geareater's Build Thread

I sealed the deal on a booster and brake pedal from a yard here in houston over the phone. It's all out of an 02 Escalade EXT. BUT, he told me they cut the lines from the booster! Well, except the Booster to power steering pump hard line. I am getting that one. So I have to see when I go there Monday if they can source the other lines from another vehicle on the yard. I'm not worried about the low pressure return hose, I can get that anywhere for cheap.
My only real concern is regarding the master cylinder. My truck has the square looking resevoir whereas the Escalade has the larger rounded one. I have come across a couple posts of the master cylinder holes not lining up with the hydrobooster studs. I'm really hoping the two are interchangeable and just have different reservoirs.

Its not a big deal, the reservoirs are interchangable. I had a large rounder one on my truck and would have rathered the other, its just smaller. As far as the studs not lining up, there's only 1 that is offset. I didn't have a drill bit big enough to drill the firewall so I just beat the stud out and secured it with 3 bolts, works and operates just fine. The high pressure line you need is like $22 at Oreilly's, instead of having to beat your head against the wall trying to find one out of a car at the JY.
Edit: Just came across this post from Coban from last year:
"When the hydro-boost swap was first detailed, the master cylinder was part of the swap. It wasn't until later that some guys found out that, in some cases, the master cylinder they already had would bolt up.
The bolt spacing for the master cylinder changed at some point. I suspect its when GM started using the drum brakes in 05. The bolt spacing was different between my 2004 ECSB and my 2006 CCSB, both 1500s. "
I'll do a quick measurment of my stock stuff before going to the yard to make sure it will be compatible with the 2002 hydrobooster. I'm pretty sure it will be fine though.

I was referring to the 2 studs on the brake booster that the master cylinder bolts to. There are some MCs that don't line up properly with those 2 studs but I'm not sure what vehicles they came out of.

I really need an idea on new tires for my wheels, problem is, I don't see many people rolling them. I'm looking for an aggressive street tire, good grip at the same time has a long lifetime. Anyone have any ideas on a good tire combo? I'd love to see some pics if anyone has any.
