Have you considered doing a hydroboost conversion? Then no braking issues with turbos.

This truck will not have a power steering pump. It will be a heavily tracked truck with occasional street time so I would rather have the weight removed. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Got quite a few more parts in. Some fuel line and fittings, a few new bolts, mostly small stuff. However I got my shifter and wiring board in. I'm not sure why, but I am very excited about both of those.

Shot of the random stuff.

A close up of the wiring board next to my MS3Pro.

As far as actual progress goes I managed to get my intake put back together and installed for hopefully the last time. I also tapped the water pump for a steam fitting and got it installed with some new gaskets and bolts.

The weather here has been **** so it's been tough to haul myself to the garage to work on the truck. Hoping to get the engine completely buttoned up mechanically this weekend and start chipping away at the wiring.

Have been focusing on the interior lately. I have pretty much all of the interior removed and the sound dampening and carpet jute will not be going back in.

I weighed the rubber that came off the firewall and it came in at 8.6 lb. I also managed to remove the factory air bag while keeping the stock cover, that came in at 1.9 lb. I have yet to weight the dampening and jute that I removed and I didn't weigh any of the wiring and stuff like that that will not be replaced so the numbers are rough, but total weight removed so far is 212.1 lb.

As far as the airbag removal goes, I first took the airbag cover with the airbag off the wheel.

The airbag and detonator itself were inside a metal frame that was riveted on with a ridiculous amount of rivets. (16)

After drilling out those rivets there were several more that held the detonator to the frame and the airbag itself. I drilled them all out and separated the frame from the airbag.

Lastly I riveted the frame back into the cover.

Nice progress, do you have a weight goal?

It's kind of hard to pinpoint, but for this season I plan to leave on the bed cover since the bed is kind of beat up and I am going to do a spray in at a later time.

I would hope to be at 3,200 and would love to see 3,150 for this season. Once I can get more serious with taking the cover off, some Kirkey seats, aftermarket suspension I am really hoping to be sub 3,000 with the cage and turbo setup.

I'm sitting similar. I scaled 3270 with a half tank. Next winter I'd like to cage it, then cut weight with fiberglass parts.

You started off better than me.

I am going to try to keep the steel and glass in as long as I can. This is mainly because there are a few classes and events around here that require it.
