im hoping around 375 rwhp..you know, i wasnt to fond of the color, but i couldnt pass it up for a clean, low mile truck. the shortbed single cab 2wd v8 trucks are rare around here and this one was local. so i grabbed it up. but its starting to grow on me. i think blacking some stuff out might make it look good.

 

99-02 but I never to any finished pics old man totaled mine out but black would make it look ten times better

 

wow. black wakes up the maroon really good. thanks for posting those pics. theres not too many maroon trucks on here. now i got a idea of what the black theme would look like on mine.

well heres what i got done today..had to dtop to go pick up my heads from landspeed






specs on heads are CNC port and polish, angle cut valves, milled .20..im sure im missing something, he did everything under the sun to them. i have a build sheet and flowchart of how the heads performed.

 

Which heads are those??? Are you gonna post the sheet???

 

heads are 243's. land speed heads did them for me. its his stage 2 heads. ill get a picture of the build sheet posted up tonite

 

well after pulling the heads off, i found out my trucks a 4.8, not a 5.3 as far as ive tore this thing down, im starting to just think of finding a 6.0 short block and throwing it in there.

 

still is gonna run good with those 243s on it

 

oh yeah, the 4.8 is a good engine. but it has its limits. i want to run a N/A setup and the 4.8 just doesnt have what it takes to make N/A power. im on the look out for a 6.0 shortblock now. as far as ive torn this engine down. itll be a breeze pulling out the block and replaceing it with a 6.0
