We have established that. I haven't disagreed that they have a point. I just say there point is of a 50 mom that has been over protective of here son all his life.

We all agree it is a lq4 but the gear ratio is 3.83. To clear any confusion. Also have this documented if i ever need it.

Gt4 is 3.83 is what I found. Let me double check.

i think my first source said 3.83 but i found 3.73 for sure

Gm didn't make 3.83 for these vehicles.

GU4 = 3.08
GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10

G80 = Factory Positrack locker A.K.A. Gov lock or Gov Bomb
G86 = Factory Posi limited slip

I threw a mild cam(224/228) in my TBSS when I rebuilt the motor. It has stock exhaust, intake, converter, everything... Runs great!

There's nothing wrong with trying something different. Get off the forum, get it done, and if it sucks then redo it.

Thanks for the encouragement. If we didn't get 20" of snow in the past two weeks I would have a cammed denali.

How is it so funny? Either I saw it wrong ad 3.83 is so common or the first Internet sorce found s wrong. Either is simple and I don't memorize production codes

I am on my phone so not going to look but i think someone was talking about 3.83 earlier in the thread.
