New Z/28s are being discounted $20k. So tempting. I don't think they's make a good drag car, but I know I'll kick myself down the road if I don't get one now. Hmm.

Awesome car but the interior always leaves me scratching my head. Wouldn't be a deal breaker though if I was seriously considering it.

I'm |___| that far from trading my truck in on a white Z28 I saw Friday... $54k sticker. And it'll make a damn good drag car, even better road racer (which is where the men with ***** go to race!)

My Caltracs are off and I tested three of my five data points...
1) Jarring over speed bumps -- Gone.
2) Clanking/squeaking in rear -- Gone.
3) Drive line vibration @ 65 mph -- Reduced but still present.
4) Wheel hop -- Yes.
5) Rough road driving -- Will test tomorrow.

All in all, it drives much better without the Caltracs. Wheel hop however...

Definitely a better ride without the Caltracs.

So, I'm backing up, partially to be prepared to sell/trade in if the opportunity arises.

Kooks green catted y-pipe* with factory exhaust.
Battery back under the hood.
Hitch re-installed.
Spare back underneath.
Factory size tires back on.

The tires and y-pipe/exhaust will let me go back to a stock tune without problems. Hitch so I can tow a trailer. Went to the RV show in Fort Worth this past weekend and have my eye on a couple of 17'-20' models.

I still plan on bracket racing this season.

*OMG. Ordered from Maryland Speed over a month ago. Are these people scammers? They said it has to be built and shipped from Kooks but I verified that several vendors (including Kooks themselves) have this in stock. Hell, AutoAnything.com beats their price by $70 and shows to ship tomorrow. What a PITA.
