Default Complete ground up - 414 stroker, 4l80e, Coilovers, the whole nine..

Here's a sneak peek of the build I just finished. It's a complete build from the ground up. I'm guessing this GMT800 is probably about as fresh as one can find these days, with just past 4,000 total miles on the ticker. I de-virginized the thing with a 414ci lq9 swap, custom built 4l80e, Viking Coilovers, Caltracs, Hotchkiss sway bars, poly mounts, katskin leather/suede seats and leather accents, suede liner. Many of the aftermarket parts were added from another donor truck. Needless to say, it's the smoothest riding, rattle-free, truck I've ever been behind the wheel in to this day. I've received praises every time I've taken It out.. nobody believes it's a 18 year old truck, including myself. So far, I could not be happier I decided to go this route. More pics and videos to come...

Here are the links. If someone can host them for me, I'd appreciate it.

Beautiful truck, looks super clean and well done.

I'd love to see some photos, hopefully you can post them.

I remember your STS truck from years ago, how time flies. Now many people left on this forum from 2004, when we only had 4 categories on ls1tech. Haha

Have pretty much the same truck in project status. Wondering how you like the coils overs? I have been leaning toward Ridetech air system because I hate a harsh ride. Ridetech is also about to release a coil over system for these trucks. Nice truck!

Also what console is that? Would like to put one in my truck, but I haven't figured out what works yet.

Contact Atomic @ AFP for the Coilovers. He took care of me with my setup, supplied the bolt in brackets, and was extremely helpful. I haven't dealt with ride tech, but service like AFP is hard to come by these days.

He carries the Viking shocks for Coilovers, which are comparable to the double adjustable ride techs, for less money. They're very good quality and I think they look better too. Depending on how low you are, My experience is that going with a longer shock with shorter brackets is the way to go. For ride quality, I stuffed a longer spring in there with less spring rate.

The console is a factory Tahoe console with color matched trim and cutout for the shifter and custom leather wrapped escalade lid and shifter boot. Relocated climate controls from the dash..

Yeah. No kidding. I left the site for a short time, but lurked around for a couple years in between. I don't post all that much anymore like I used to, but I still get on here. All my buddies always tell me that they miss seeing the STS truck. I'm probably making about 150-200 more HP on all motor with this setup than I did with the STS/lm7 truck. But The sound from that thing was like no other.

What wheels are they? Sizes to?

The wheels started their life out as a forged set of Custom triple chrome plated Escalade wheels from a company called MC2 forged alloys. I have since shaved then down to bare aluminum, media blasted them. Filled in all the rivets and smoothed out the spokes. One of the wheels had a crack in the lip. So I cut out the hairline in a small V shape. This way I was able to insert a Slightly larger V piece and tig welded it in there. Reason you need to do it this way, is because the metal shrinks when it cools after welding it. If you just welded the crack. It would create a serious flat spot in the lip.

More pics to follow on the wheels and the rest of the build.
