That is total for the pair. So about 16 lbs total for the entire strongarm kit.

I'm having a local guy build me a set of chromoly a arms with rod ends. I'm hopping to save a lot of weight on that. I also switched to a 88-98 spindle with a custom set of aerospace drag brakes. Need to get an exact weight on em but it feels to be over 100# lighter than stock 99-06 brake setup

The strong arms are the way to go if you don't want to have any made, but they are heavy as ****. Way better deal to get some made, but I doubt it would be cheaper. Have you guys ever priced quality rod ends and ball joints?

I'm just at a point right now where I can't justify any labor bills. I don't have the know how to build a set of arms so I just did what I could.

mi sure that, and the ball joints, would be the most expensive part!! but i have a chassis guy that should be willing to help me out, so ill see. maybe i could get him to make a jig and sell a few sets... hmmmm

if custom arms are being made, wouldn't it be more beneficial to use uni-***** rather than balljoints? I imagine there would be some weight savings, also I believe they can operate at harsher angles than the typical balljoint. They'd be cheaper than those expensive balljoints too. All the prerunner guys use them and love them.

http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/uniball-upper-control-arms.php

this is a prerunner kit for silverados. as you can see the ball joints are replaced with giant hiem joints aka uniballs. that link is just for upper arms. but many other companies produce lowers and uppers for the prerunner crowd so I imagine something similar could be fabricated for light weight drag racing applications.
