Awesome project! Wouldn't it be easier to get a rclb and chop it down?

Kinda what I was thinking.

RCLB 2500 4x4 with the Dmax already in it then just chop it down and put SWB bed on it. Prolly wouldn't be a whole lot heavier than a half ton. Then it could still be used as a 3/4 ton for pulling/hauling stuff.

Either way your build is awesome!

I don't have the fab skills to cut down a 2500 RCLB, plus I want the weight savings of the 1500 frame. The only hang up point for the swap that I'm planning is the diesel cooling stack, but there are a couple of options for that. So no...to me, this is the easier of the two options.

I was planning on getting started with the teardown today but mother nature had other thoughts...

I don't have a donor yet. I'm looking for a rollover LBZ...or are you asking about the 99?

Yes, I guess I should have been more specific or waited till I woke up to post.

What's wrong with the 99 Host vehicle you picked up.
