Bigger diameter is better than smaller diameter heavy wall.

Are you sure the drain is clear? Is the return to the pan above the oil level? 99% of the problems with smoking turbos is an incorrect/bad return setup, not the seals...unless its a precision turbo

Well I am returning the oil into the pan in the exact spot that my old turbo was returning to. That worked for many years. It is just above the oil level sensor in the back passenger side.

I did take my return off of the pan and let it run into a bottle for about 1 minute just to make sure that it was getting some oil. I have pulled the line off at least 4 or 5 times checking things out. Which sucks. It is a PITA to pull the turbo on and off. I have to leave the oil return hooked to the turbo when the turbo goes on and off. There isn't a lot of room to put it on and off the turbo. I'm sure it could be done, but it is a lot easier to pull the line at the pan and pull the turbo.

I have only gotten the motor up to about 150 degrees. But it was idling at about 53psi. I am only running 5w30 oil right now and I think I might have to change my oil pump spring. The motor only has about 5 minutes of run time on it.

I'm dying to drive this thing. My season up in Alaska is about over. The last track time of the year is Labor Day weekend. It is going to be close for me to make it this year.

So I just talked to Forced inductions. They said both sides of the seals were pushed out. They fixed it for me at no charge since the turbo was hardly used. Which I greatly appreciated. Only had to pay 200 bucks in shipping!

So. If that is the Case. Tell me what you guys think of my oil supply and return. I originally had a Mp76 on my truck for the last 6 years. Had a #4 supply and a #10 return. My old motor idled at about 38-40psi. WOT it went up to about 68-70. I had my return going into the pan just above the oil level sensor. Never had a lick of problems. I tried using this exact oil return/supply setup on the new turbo with a fail.

So now I can't find a #12 return flange for the t4. I can find the #12 for a T6. Now I have a #10 flange that bolts right on. I got an adapter to go from #10 to #12. Then I got a new #12 line done up. Then I put another #12 to #10 adapter on my #10 45* fitting into my pan. This all fits perfect so far.

My motor idles at about 50psi. But this was also the FIRST startup for this build. I haven't even gotten it hot enough to change the oil. I am wondering if I should consider a restrictor in the supply side? Do you think the #10 to #12 adapters are going to screw me? I can change the #10 in the pan pretty easily. Just drop the front diff and then drop the pan and change the fitting.

I am thinking the oil pressure might work well for my piston sprayers. Maybe they don't need the extra pressure. But can it hurt?

Any Ideas?

I would not use a restrictor. The borg turbos like a big oil supply, I actually went to a -6an feed from a -4, and used -10 return on mine and never had problems.

You may have just gotten a bad apple out of the gate. I used a 4x1/2" or so pipe straight down from the turbo on mine then to an AN fitting so I could remove the drain easily.

Well. I got to drive the truck last night. n/a first time in almost two years. Thing feels like it should run ok. Didn't do to much. Since it was 1am and I drove it to the gas station 3/4 mile down the road. Put 10 gallons in it and drove back to the shop. No bumper, grille or license plate. Lol.

Fuel fill mod worked great! That makes me happy!

Here is my filter mod for running it with out the turbo.
