Got the engine back in but I have a problem. The truck will start but won't stay running unless I keep on the gas. Can anyone think of what it might be?

If you installed the cam, it probably just needs to run awhile to "learn" how to idle.

No... You need it tuned. These computers do "learn", but only to an extent. It's not going to run for **** unless you get it tuned for the aftermarket parts you put in.

He states in first post, tuned by wheatly, and I'm assuming he got a tune for cam? If not it'll get a lil better but not much!

He does state it was tuned by wheatley but I was under the impression the tune was for the initial upgrades he had already done. Not for the cam.. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He also went from a 5.3 to a 6.0 with a cam. With out a re tune, it's barley going to run or it's going to run poorly.

sorry guys i guess i confused some of you guys but my truck still has the 5.3 the 6.0 is going to be going into the 85 c10. The wheatley tune was done over a year ago so it was not done for the cam and everything but i finally got it tuned today to for the cam and it runs great.

Well the truck. Runs great and is fun to drive. Won't be doing really anything until march because I'm back at school and won't have anytime to do anything. But the next thing I'm getting done will be my exhaust.

I'm not sure if 3" is too much for the 5.3, but if it was me, I would do 3" to an x pipe as I like the way they sound. It would give you plenty of room to grow.
