I keep telling guys...if anything is touching the pipes on a turbo setup, it will melt no matter how much wrap you put on it. I ended up having to make custom wires on mine of all different lengths so they were not touching anything.

Ended up getting the first set, the boots look shorter than that the second set, hopefully they wont touch. This must have happened because when the manifold was machined it was not perfectly level and the angle its on now makes it touch the stock wires....

My log manifold warped like crazy over time, like a good 1/2" or so. The cast manifolds do much better. You might want to inspect your manifold around the welds as well.

I know trick's manifolds look nice but then I have to redo my whole hotside or buy a trick hotside. Worst thing that happens is the flange gets cut off and a 1/2" thick ones gets welded on. I dont see why that wouldnt work

By cast I also mean the stock truck ones, but yes that means redoing your pipes either way. Im not saying you have to, im just saying if you start running into warping and cracking issues (at the welds) you might have gotten your life use out of what you have. A thicker flange may not help you. Hot metal wants to grow, and stainless grows a lot more than mild.

So I made a stupid mistake and ordered car wires. But the wires after one trip to vermont arent toasted so Im just gonna say **** it and go on friday on the last street night and run it. Now im tore between ordering the right set of taylor wires that I could possibly cook or getting the accel ceramic booted ones that stand up to 2000 degrees. Im kind of leaning toward those and never worrying about that again...
