Well I finally made it to the track with my heavy practical racetruck. In 2wd launching at like 1 psI on the first run it ran a 14.01 at 96, then I tried launching with boost, blew the tires off and wouldn't hook up at all. Then did 4wd launches with boost, no problems at all, then I ran a 13.8 and a 13.76 at 99. I was really happy this thing got into the 13s. And I couldn't tell you anything about how I launched, I was concentrating on not rolling through the lights when it was spooling up
The slips are still in the truck, I'll take pictures when I grab them

Well power falls off when IATS go too high right? When on the dyno it's not the same airflow as driving and I have such a beefy drive train to spin so maybe that's why it falls off? Or maybe the turbo is going out of its sweet spot and spinning too fast?
I'll be honest I'm very mechanically inclined but I'm such noob it comes to tuning, hence why I don't do it

Now I do think power falling off the way it does on your truck is a bit excessive but I haven't seen it in person so it's tough to know exactly. I also wouldn't blame it on the drivetrain. I'd love to data log it some time to see what's going on though.

If you go up to the track sometime and wouldnt mind hooking up your computer to my truck Id appreciate that. Does it matter that slowhawk tuned it with efi live?

So I figured out why my old turbo may have been smoking so much at idle, my catch can over flowed a few times since its been on the truck and I didnt realize the filter absorbed that much oil... Cause I took it off and tried to blow through it the other day for the hell of it and yeah it didnt flow too good... So I had another breather laying around and put that on, hopefully it didnt hurt my new turbo.
When I went to the track one of the hoses going to the catch can was off and I figured I forgot to put it back on but maybe it blew off. But I guess the crankcase pressure wasnt too extreme cause my dipstick never blew out

So I went to the track for the third time last night, got there wicked late cause I convoyed up with some buddies but at least I got some use out of the two runs. I have an OBD adapter for an app on my phone so I could see my IATs cause I was wondering how bad they were. At the end of the track they got to 155 and 158... Don told me when he tuned it he had the timing fall off at 150, which makes sense why the truck doesnt pull good at the top end. So until I do something about that I have a feeling my truck isnt going to go any faster...
I know I should get meth and itll help alot but I dont really want to drop that kind of money right now, I mean I dont want to drop any money right now since I leave for college in a month and Im not gonna be making money for a while. But a 4" intercooler is $200 and I was going to get a 3rd gen cummins trans cooler to mount behind it. The trams cooler is roughly if not bigger than a tru cool 40k but is cheaper.
Is that gonna knock down my IATs a decent amount or is meth the only good way? I know plenty of guys run it but it kinda sketches me out that if the pump fails lets say that the motor would be toast. Correct me if im wrong but I thought you have to lean it out to the point that without meth the tune would too lean.
Heres some pictures a friend of mine took, I was pulling on this 6.4 until the top end
And the track was wicked bad, Im fairly certain I spun the front tires a little bit when I launched both times
