They were $240ish shipped I think when I bought mine, pre Covid of course. Also if you feel like you have to push the clutch pedal all the way down to shift you may want to extend the master cylinder arm 3/8” it helped a ton for me.

yeah, i fixed Dan's old shifter pretty easy... but i still think the Core was a much better unit & worth the upgrade.

not sure i'd swing $400, though. maybe you can find a used one - just ensure you get the one that matches your top cover. they made two different heights that have about 1/4" difference in the actuator arm length.
You get upgraded shifters for Samson or the H3?

got Core to build a Hurst for the Hummer at the same time i ordered the nv4500 unit (one of only a few Hummer ones that he's done), and it's been baller! literally shifts like a car... granted it's a Solstice transmission, but still buttery smooth & short enough for wrist-only shifting.

only found one option so far for the G56 (made by B&M)... and it's $500+ something to do with the complexity of the unit due to instead of having normal shift rails & whatnot, the actual shift tower controls the gates & actuator arm placement (complete with dual-axis detent ***** & everything). every other reasonably-priced option is simply a shorter replacement shaft to bolt onto the stock shifter - which does nothing but make you reach farther away.

Thats badass about the H3! Ive never actually talked to the core guy except an email here and there, cool you got a sorta custom one done.

Seems kinda ridiculous there arent more short throws out there for the G56 I figured those trucks are more common than the NV4500s.

i ran across a guy on a hummer forum who'd posted a review of the first short shifter built for H3s (by core), and sure enough, it was listed on the website... so technically, it wasn't completely custom - he just only built them to order because they're slightly different than the pickups or solstice/sky.

i was also surprised on the lack of options for the G56... it was widely used for 13yrs (not as long as the nv4500, though).

This **** slow yo! Best time was a 15.5 @91mph . Here’s a quick synopsis of the runs and please criticize heavily because I want to learn. I can post logs later.

So I made four runs.
1-left @1,700 in first with no burnout. Spun a tad then bogged a tad ram 15.8

2- left @2k in first with a burn out, seemed to dead hook but bog a tad. 15.551 @91

3- Adjusted shocks, dropped TP from 42# to 28#. Left @3k in first with burnout, spun through first shirt shifted to second which bogged. 16.5 88mph

4- Dropped TP to 22# left in second @3k with a burnout. Bogged so hard it nearly shut the engine off. Ran 17.2 at 90

So I need to figure my launch out because clearly I suck at that. I noticed in my logs that it takes around .8sec to shift from 1-2 so I think I really need to dial in the 2nd gear launch.

Nothing broke on either truck and my buddies 408 Denali ran a 14.2 in 4x4 with a soft launch it definitely has mid 13s in it with a real tire and harder launch.

Btw I’m #41 Denali buddy is #42

I wouldn't say YOU suck at it, but your tires do. You need some slicks on the rear so you can rev it up in 2nd and get a launch.

Why are lugging around all that extra weight? Take off the hitch ball.

I brought my car hauler and winch with me in case one of us broke and needed a tug home, I was fairly certain the Denali would break something, and on his first run, he smoked the clutch BAAADDDD in 3rd. I would have dropped the ball and all the stuff in the trunk but I didn't want to leave an open trailer unattended in the pits with a $600 winch, half a dozen new straps, and tools sitting on the deck ready for an opportunist to sneak them home.

I definitely suck and was nervous as hell not gonna lie, totally need better tires too.
