That's going to be somewhat limiting. I mean a big cam will idle, and a big cam can sit in traffic... but its not necessarily the most fun thing in the world.

I have a pretty high tolerance for miserable daily drivers. Ive already ordered a manual steering rack for the koda, I'm prepared to go to manual brakes if its got no vaccume. Mostly afraid of the engine tearing itself apart.

IIRC the plug on the back of the intake is removable. Also you could always go with hydroboost brakes.

Small update, tracking number says I will have my Wiring harness this friday, its been about twice as long as originally quoted but at least I will have it. Headers, a L92 truck intake, and new LS7 lifters all showed up last week. The list of go fast parts is basically only lacking a decent throttle body, and a cam and pushrods.

This is going to be a fun truck for sure man, nice work. What are you doing for gauges? I have a 1997 Ram SS/T that I am going to do a 6.0/4l80 swap in and haven't been able to find much info on keeping the factory gauges. It was my brothers first truck and I'm trying to keep it as original on the inside as possible.

I'm going to use a Dakota digital dash when I get there, as of right now I'm just using a scanner to make sure everything is doing well.

On that note... It runs! Took a few hours today to get the harness slorted out and swap a few sensors, but all in all I'm happy with how everything went. It's a blast to drive, shifts well, drives smooth.

I've been chasing an intermittent missfire that seems to pop up at random. It will run without a few cylinders for a bit and then if I restart the engine it clears up. Seems electrical, maybe a flaky sensor. No code just yet.

I also need to redo the passenger side of the exhaust. After starting the engine it seems like the engine and trans settled a bit and pushed the exhaust back about a half inch, and it now rubs on the cab, annoying AF.

Next upgrades on the list are an upgrade to a 9.25 rear end, redoing the fuel system, installing the headers and building a true dual system, beefing up the suspension to handle the weight of the V8, and then go fast engine parts (heads/cam/intake)

those headers are sexy.

There is a common problem with that intermitten misfire, I'll try to dig up a thread about it, if I recall it was the harness at the injectors causing issues... its a p0300 code right?
