Yeah sure no problem

If I would have left the GTO M12 alone it would have made things much cheaper and easier but I wanted to build it right the first time

Wow what a rad project. Yes, please keep us updated on this. I'd much rather copy your work than rebuild my 65 when I kill it! Are you a machinist or just an overachiever?

I'm not much of a machinist, just a hack & whack kinda guy. If I had a rotary table or CNC I would have cut the plates and everything myself.

Updates:

Ran into some issues with the C5 rear adapter with the 1pc bearing....

When I bolt everything up, I get this gap

Upon further measuring...

Didn't get any good pics, but it looks like I need to machine down the 'step' in the bore for the oil funnel. It measured about .063-.064ish. The rear cover is lifting approx .054.

Looks pretty easily accessible with an end mill, shouldn't be too bad just indicate in on the hole diameter, touch off and remove the material.

Updates:

The rear housing is being machined and a bearing spacer made, should be done this week. I believe I have to re-think my transfer case mount. I don't think the rear round pattern piece has enough material removed to clear the bearing retainer on the 149. My mistake for modeling it after an NP205, which uses the adapter as a bearing retainer

My solution will probably be to utilize the 4L65E 4x4 adapter. I'll have one to use once I remove my 4L60 and I can easily plasma out a plate and drill the mounting holes. Supposed to go back overseas so we'll see how far I get on it. Taking Thursday/Friday off so hopefully I can make some good progress

pics so you get an idea of what im thinkin....

The front portion (1st image) has a flange, where it would normally bolt to the rear of the trans. I can mill or keep the flanged portion. This method will also keep the clocking of the transfer case factory and solve my transmission mount, no need to fabricate now The plate will probably be 3/8 or 1/2 steel and welded to my stub pipe from the vette housing. I have access to a mill, I'll mill everything down once it is welded to address the warping issue caused from welding.

GETTING CLOSE!!!!

Little woman tells me that my adapter piece is finished being machined and sitting at the house.

Been out on a job for the past month so no updates. I've got 2 weeks off when I get home so I'm hoping to put this damn thing together and be done with it!

Damn, I was wondering just the other day what all it would take to get a t56 mated up to a transfer case.

Keep up the good work!

No it's sitting in the shop fully assembled. Been working too much and focusing on my Jeep when I do have time.

The 4L60 needs to die in my SS to expedite things
