Well I worked on the truck pretty much all weekend. It is going very slow and on-top of that I'm have a hell-of-a-time getting parts... seams everyone wants to send me the wrong crap... Any who, I got the front and rear covers on as well as the oil pan and one head. I'm going to get my push rods tommarrow, and my other head gasket and reverse apply pin should be here tuesday. Maybe next weekend... O and I also got the old 5.3 out....




Stock 317 heads. I drilled and taped the steam pipe holes...

That was a good idea installing the 5.3L so that you could still drive the truck. I almost did that but I just would have blown it up the next day Why the cast blast over the fully ported heads?

 

I was hoping the little 5.3 would hold out a bit longer than it did. It most liklly would have if I didn't torch it on a 500+ mile drive.. Hot enough to color the bumper is a bit too hot I think...

Although it was still running when I pulled the trans, it just had a cold knock and number 6 wasn't pulling its weight at times.... lazzy number 6.....

Looks like your making good progress minus the wrong part being sent to you. It was great to meet you and Nevada79 this weekend. Any chance to talk boost, HP and check out trucks Im there. So maybe a start up this weekend on the truck?

great progress?? geez my his 370 went to the machine shop before mine did and i had mine in my truck runnin before he got his out..now ive had the heads intake and cam off for a few months and going with a bigger cam and ls6 heads and im just now gettin around to gettin the parts to finish it again and he still aint got his turd running...haha sorry dude just had to give ya ****..good to hear your so close to havin it done
