Most likely the parts were not cleaned, measured, and assembled properly.

This biggest thing with aftermarket cranks and especially stroker cranks is to check the bearing journals for size in several spots. Sometimes the journals are not finished properly. If you use the wrong bearing or if the journal is not perfectly round you will have issues with bearing life. Crank manufactures don't want you to know that there cranks are made and finished over seas. Some companies will finish them here for quality control but most don't. The only cranks actually manufactured here are the Billet one's. There usually custom made to order and not massed produced. That's why they cost thousands of dollars.

As most have said go with an Iron block and build a 370 or a 402.

bearing to rod journal and bearing to rod clearances were stock.. with aftermarket bearings.. he did not machine anything at all just the block.. he screwed that too.. 6 thou piston to wall clearance.. lets hope this doesn't happen again

Not sure which companies you are considering for your new motor, but the ones that I consistently hear good things about are
AES
TSP
ERL

If your a big baller than I would suggest Dutweiller, he also ships lots of motors out to the Middle East and a good rep.
Also Jarrett (stock48) can build you a mean *** engine. Ask me how I know!
