dam thats pretty soon... good luck man, hope to see you around. Also 400 thru an 80e shouldnt be too hard, Im running steel wheels and an 80e (fucked up as far as I know) and I put down 325 at 5200 running out of fuel and no other WOT tuning. Its gotta have more in it.

Im with you on that one! But mine has the Hughes "racing" performance kit with koleen steels, hd sprag, and new 4th gear steels, HD2 kit with medium level shift kit, so 400 hp should be easy for this trans to handle haha.

Gotta torque up the lifter tray bolts...then get gaskets for all the covers and torque them up then the rotating assembly is done and next is have a valve job done on the heads and maybe a little porting.
Cam im using is a 227/231 6xx 6xx on 112+2
Gotta get all the tires moving...stuff is still smoothing out from moving from NM back to phoenix, but i hope to have the motor done and in by winter time.
But that is only if the clutch hold out...i might end up doing the 80e swap first.

Have alot of parts on the way from GM, 4L80E will be in by May.
Started with the cooler today.

I took a piece of flat steel and bent the ends to allow the cooler to sit farther forward to avoid hitting the bolt that holds the Power steering cooler on the drivers side.
Then welded some uprights to use to bolt the top to the core support brace/ hood latch bracket.

The bottom was simple, i modified the factory cross bar that was installed and turned it backwards. Two of the pictures show spacers that will be replaced with rubber to help with vibration dampening, will also put something on the top.

More of the lower crossbar modified.

Turned out really well for 2 hours of work. Damn rain stopped me from welding for a while.
