Cool! Did u have to use any special tools? I've heard a pinion checking tool is just a dust collector.

Why does GMCtrk say about not painting aluminum? does it etch or corrode it?

$400 ahead in the deal. Way to go!

Where do u guys come up w/. this stuff?
T-56 is more than a 4l80e? Even tho u have the man pedal?

What does it do/ got a pic of this Lingenfelter box? I'm thinkin it mates 24x w/. the 58x to read each other. Don't wait too long on tranny, or the 6.0L will blow granny 5 apart.
No fast ones. Just attention to detail.

Just started with nothing and went from there, I need a new ring and pinion, I lost a pinion bearing and set it up again and now its a little noisy.

Some paints dont stick to aluminum.

This complete motor has been build with deals. Im trading the stock L76 pistons for main bearings haha.

Alot of people have done the t-56 swap in the trucks. The t-56 i was looking at was around 2400, then with all the clutch and drive shaft i would have been around 4k ish. Right now im only out 1200 and the 4l80 is built and being shipped to me this week. I just have to decide on a converter, then its lines cooler and shaft the rest is tune and fabbing a crossmember.

As far as the man pedal, i guess i could put that avatar back up so you know what we are talking about.

The box converts the GEN 4 58x crank reluctor wheel, and 4x cam gear to a 24x and 1x so the gen 3 computers can read them and run the motor.

If u got a built 80e for $1200, that's pretty good. But, maybe there's a trade or something I missed. Your bartering/ horse tradin skills seem to be top notch.
IDK what avatar u mean.
Guess I have to check out LPE since I don't see a link. I understand what its doin, I just like pics. Gives me somethin to wrap onto, know what I mean.

I am just a mechanic and i find deals, I got a 80e in rough shape (cracked case that had been welded poorly) and then swapped it for a 80e core my work sent back to GM. Then got alot of parts for cheap by just asking around and getting deals through work from various people. Got a GM transmission builder to build it for a fee he determined and wala around 1200 buck so far and its done.

Also the avatar by my name up top is the man pedal!

I do know what you mean, Pictures say 100000000000000000000 words.

Its moving along for sure. I hope the short block is together this week, full motor by end of summer maybe. Depends on what i do with the Sonoma.

As far as being faster then you...i know this is a low blow, but yours doesn't run very good now Wanna race my 4.8 and 5 speed...come on 30 roll

No but seriously, i dont even know what to expect maybe one day we will see.

You're not "just" a mechanic. You're a mechanic. Don't downgrade yourself.
I do remember that avatar.

I remember that i had like 10 in one night haha.

I am a mechanic, also the motor and trans are out of the sonoma. I still do not know what i am going to do about a motor, im leaning more for the 4.3 So i can have a DD so i can tear down the 05 and do the motor and trans swap correctly and take my time. About 4 hours of work to do it all.

Im hoping for 400 hp, but through a 80e might make it rough doing so.

Good luck

Got the crank cleaned up, and the block all ready for assembly.

I hope to have the crank in tomorrow (as long as clearances are good)

Then the shortblock done by the end of the week.

Short block is built. All clearances where good.

The list is getting smaller and smaller.

Heads need ported ect,
head gaskets,
head bolts,
cam,
injectors (42lbers),
i hope she's done soon, i plan to run the 5 speed behind it, then get all the stuff together for the 80e (which is done and built)
