I went threw all the options. A t-56 is more then a 4l80e. Also just be warned. I change my mind daily haha. I just think putting it in drive and going has a good ring to it haha.

Just put a TG HD-3 shift kit with full manual valve body in the 80e and a floor shifter in the consul and then drive it like a manual, only with no clutch

Kyle sometimes i wonder about you. You think the worst ideas are the GREATEST.

But on a side note. For the swap i would only need, trans + all the upgrade ****. Crossmember. Repair 1 plug that i cut to make the reverse lights work for my 5 speed (i am using a 6.0 4l80E harness currently) and a cooler and driveshaft with joints.

So realistically its a pretty straight forward swap since i also am not putting down any power compared to everyone else thats running the 4l80e's.

my daily is a five speed, slow as hell but it's still fun to drive a stick. less your in traffic.
auto is nice but i would love a t-56.

i've looked at all the t-56 swap pages on here and i LOVE it when that little shifter sticks out of the cup holder.

Should be getting the crank, rods, pistons and rings installed this week. I had Scoggin Dickey install and new 24x reluctor wheel to replace the GEN IV 58x. So now i dont have to worry about a linginfelter box.

The list of parts is down to gaskets, cam, head work and misc. bolts. I hope to have it done in 2009 haha.

The 4l80e is done i think ill swap it in after i get the motor in and running good.

Cool! Did u have to use any special tools? I've heard a pinion checking tool is just a dust collector.

Why does GMCtrk say about not painting aluminum? does it etch or corrode it?

The next day he calls the shop telling me 200 bucks and i can have his stock 243's
SCORE.

So the new setup will be a refurbed ly6 6.0 shortblock, 243's, and a custom cam nothing to big but not to small, something streetable but well performing.

Dustin
$400 ahead in the deal. Way to go!

What does it do/ got a pic of this Lingenfelter box? I'm thinkin it mates 24x w/. the 58x to read each other. Don't wait too long on tranny, or the 6.0L will blow granny 5 apart.
