That sounds so much better! I really like it. Hopefully I get similar results with a 14" and 22" oval magnaflow in series.

Took her out tonight with a friend to try things out. Doesnt feel faster really and the log is basically the same at 4.2-4.3 to 60 and 10.6 to 100. My speed is off by about 4% still so it seems like it will be in the lower 12s when i do finally hit the track. I definitely need some tune work first though. MAF is maxing out before 6k and timing is still low in higher gears.

Thank you, sir. It was definitely a great run with reasonable DA in the ~350-550 ft range. First run was 12.02, second was this. There is still some tune work to do and the truck needs to go with methanol injection to help push up trap speed, but not bad for a full weight truck.

Yeah, the only things not in this thread are
1) that my wife got me a chevrolet branded 10 bolt diff cover with bearing supports. I went to install it and found the g80 spider gears missing lots of teeth. I upgraded to a trutrac, studs, and the new diff cover.
2) My belt drive has always had issues because of contact with the water neck. Also I never could get a belt truly tight due to the routing. I finally found an LSA idler bracket and added the small idler next to the crank on my setup along with a longer belt to finally get that sorted out.

1 was on the truck when I made the passes in this thread, but 2 wasnt yet resolved. I am hoping that I can grab another tenth and mph with the belt slip resolved.

On another note, I spent most of my summer building a forged 6.2 for my dads procharged truck that broke a piston ring last fall...so I've been busy.

this thing is awesome!

out of curiosity, have you towed anything with this setup on the truck? im doing something pretty close to this and worried about that size of cam and lugging 7k from a stop

I havent had to tow heavy with it, but would have no concerns doing it as long as yoyou could be reasonable with the throttle.

As I have said earlier, this cam is not a truck cam and you can feel the soft midrange at part throttle or cruising. I've got it tuned to unlock the converter pretty quickly rather than lugging it, but the cam doesn't buck even down to 1000 rpm. The naturally aspirated power curve is most noticeable at 55 mph in cruise control at low revs but the blower cures any of that softness with just a little throttle.

I drive the truck everywhere year round fully ready with 3 carseats in the back. My wife even took it to my newest kids 1 month checkup recently when her car battery was getting weak. I'd put my grandma in it to drive or tow across the country with it.

Hadn't seen this thread in a while. Seems like it's a blast. Very excited to hear that this thing is reliable and you would not hesitate to let you wife drive it. I am building a 370 and putting a 2.3L blower on (cam spec'd by vortec350ss I believe @deadpoolsilverado on IG) and that is exactly what I am going for!
