I did let mine out in mine for 1 evening for a double date. He brought it back in 1 piece so he lucked out there. Lol. The funny 1 was when the ex decided that he needed a better vehicle to commute to college in and that my truck was perfect for him. I guess all college kids have 600 horse rides that get 10 mpg.

Thats a recipe for disaster!

When I went to college I got my dad's pristine truck. 3/4 ton, 4x4, extend cab silverado. But it was a 93 model with that weak (but reliable) TBI. No 600hp to kill myself with!

I told him to start looking for a carthat we could build, get running so he would learn how to work on them and actually appreciate it, he starts talking about 69 camaro, porsche 911, even brought me an ad for a cuda and a duster, and the least expensive one was $15,000!!! I told him when he won the lottery to come back to me and wed talk abot any of those... He was like well those are what i like, i told him to take a zero or two off the price and look again!!!!

Back on track.... Talked to machine shop today $20 per cylinder to bore the block out, so gonna pull it apart one night next week and get it sent over..... Now for cam selection, cheapest and easiest is to keep stock cam in it but i would like something a little better than stock, planning on keeping vvt and adding it to my harness...or if i find a 6l80 for right price i found out the harness that came on the engine they replaced this one with came complete and seems to be out of a 4wd with a 6l80need lay harness out and double check everything first though.... Asfar as cams i have been looking at tsp vvt1 and 2,as well as BTRs l99 vvt cam, and a couple of comp cams vvt cams... anyone have any experience with either of these and what are the opinions on them???

Crank and cam journals didnt look bad, but the cam was hung up coming out... None of the bearings came out on the cam this time... The crank bearings looked really good considering how the rest of the engine looked, new oil pump definitely in order!!!

Speaking of ordering.... Ordered a GPI vvt cam today with phase limiter.... They had just put same cam in a truck on 35s and dynoed at 389rwtq and 363rwhp but on a 4" stroke with 4.035 bore with shorty headers.... I plan on ordering a set of long tunes and either catted y or ory.... We will see considering this all satrted as a simple dod delete!! Kinda screwy the way things snowball!!!!
