Its all good, probably because i have 5 kids one of which is a 7month old..... Her momma is just my gf and neither of us see any point in ruining a perfectly good relationship with a piece of paper and a ring...... Been there done that.... both of my exes turned into raging psychotic witches about 24 hours after i said i do, have no desire to risk that again!!

When a 6.0 is thrown in your lap, you build it and run it, at least thats my theory....

Talked to machinist yesterday, good news is he is doing it for me for free, bad news, he is waiting on a new boring bar and attachment for his machine, the bar he has now is chattering too much, but he built another block he had with same spun bearing mine had and said everything worked good as a test, but doesnt want to have the chattering on my engine. He said hes doing it for free for a couple of reasons first its taking so long, second the information i gave him is going to make and save him a bunch of money in the long run!! So i will probably start pricing and ordering gaskets and sets next week, so far it has been less expensive to buy the valley cover assembly with seals and bolts, than to buy the gaskets and o rings individually.... Need timing cover (unless i decide to run vvt) and i do believe the rear cover assembly was about same price as the rear main and rear cover gasket....

Well, as long as it's done right, that's all that matters.

Bought my head gaskets, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, rear main seal housing assembly(ended up $10 more than the gasket and rear main seal), timing chain dampener, spent $191. Still need timing cover, cam retainer, crank and rod bearings, and to decide if i want to run vvt in this engine or not.... And if so which cam!!!

So somehow i thought the lmg in the yukon had 862 heads on it, dont know why i was thinking that, but i was oulling another engine down at work today for oil consumption and it had 243s on it so i got to thinking about my truck and it turns out the 5.3 in the yukon at the moment has 799s d'Oh

Why?

243/799 are already some of the best you can have. Switching to 821/823 heads just seems like a waste of money to me.
