Days after Thanksgiving I worked a deal and was able to end up with this 2007 Silverado Crewcab classic. The truck had a few issues when I picked it up. 2 window regulators didn't work, windshield was cracked, check engine light for the knock sensors, oil pressure gauge was pegged at 80, and a few other smalls pieces were missing. I didn't waste anytime getting the bugs taken care of. Once all was back to stock condition I began my build. Here's a few photos of the current progress!
Day 1 Day 1 The fun has begun... Underbed notches Djm flip kit and shackles installed Djm upper and lower control arms 4 inch with mcgaughys drop shocks 4/8 drop rubbing on stocks lol limo tinted as well Pulled these 3 piece DUB.ONE 24s outta storage Xmas gift some new LED headlights, switchback turn signals, and fog lights Picked up this donor 2003 Yukon Denali XL for a motor and interior swap. Then parted the rest out and actually made some money on top of all my new goodies 6 litre 132xxx miles Interior installed in the truck. I used the Denali door panels, window switches, dash board, stereo bezel, gauge cluster, center console, leather seats, power folding mirrors with turn signals, and all the interior plastics. Even the double din stereo was pulled from the donor.(Thats an Escalade steering wheel with original chevy airbag) Installed the HD upper pad on the bumper Cleaning up and all new gaskets for the 6 point Oh
As of today the truck is in the shop getting the front bumper, rear bumper, mirror caps and door handles color matched. I'l keep up the progress on the build and post as i go. The motor will be going in as soon as the trucks home. Stock manifolds and 4l60e until the pocket book gets back in shape. Any input on the 4.8 to 6.0 swap would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what you think of the truck!
It's a bolt in swap for a 6.0, you just have to tune for it.
The easiest way if everything is just stock like before is a simple copy and paste from a 6.0 tune file into the 4.8 computer. Something with tuning experience would be able to handle it no problem.
This is a pretty cool build! And those are some expensive wheels lol
Thanks for that! Believe it or not I picked the wheels up for $460 on Offerup and spent another $400 on tires mounted and balanced. Retail is around 4k from Dub themselves

I talked to a guy on YouTube who did a similar swap but from an escalade he also kept his 4l60e and just used the escalade computer. I still have the Denali pcm so planned on starting there. Thanks for your advice. One question I have is about the injectors. My intake has the returnless fuel line and the 6.0 intake has a return line, do I need to swap the 6.0 injectors to my original 4.8 intake and throttle body as well to stay with the original TAC module?
It's better to use your computer as a starting point if you ask me. Either way you have to tune the computer for the swap as the GMC computer will not run in your Chevy truck because the VATS system will trigger. Also keeping your computer will allow you to keep your throttle body, TAC module and pedal assembly.
You have to keep your 2007 intake, they are exactly the same and you need to use your 2007 fuel rail. The injectors are exactly the same size on a 4.8 and 6.0 of that era, non flex fuel trucks all came factory with 25lb/hr injectors. Even if you tried to use the 03 computer you'd have to modify the tune file anyway for the different fuel system. So just copying over a 6.0 file from a returnless truck on the 4.8 computer is the best course of action if you ask me. Having tuned several vehicles and helped with many others, it's easier this way.

Thank you for your vast knowledge, re-tune on my original PCM it is. I wonder if this is something I could send to Brendan at LT1swap.com he did the base tune on my 6.0 swapped OBS and is hundreds of dollars cheaper then anybody locally that I know of
