hey WICK3DxGATA i saw your message looks like your going in the right direction haha. I been getting stoked about this. I am going to talk to the people across the street and see if they know anyone who can help me put my exhaust together. Electric cut outs be sick on this thing i bet, Ive herd some nasty blown 5.3s to! Do you guys use hp tuner or diablo tuner at all?

This ^^^^^

The ultimate is going to be boost. heads cam ect is going to get you good hp, but boost will seal the deal. All you will need is good cam, matched to the type of boost you want. Are you wanting to race this truck or just have daily power?

Thats what I gathered earlier is that they all go together. I am not sure how much a whipple or pro charger would be. But if the cam is just a few hundred bucks and get good heads for like 1-2k that be cool i have never actually shopped for them before.

Do people take 3/4 tons to the drag strip? haha that be fun go watch others race for the day bring the truck. I am not even sure how many miles i could be getting out of a topped off tank. i always forget to hit the milage right after i fill up haha! Daily power is ideal! Id like to save some gas if possible! lol

FI is never as cheap as you think it's going to be. A fair estimate for a supercharger setup would be 6-7k. You can save in some areas and add lots more in others. No matter how well you plan it out there is always something you forgot or little things that add up.

You mention saving gas a few times though. Making more power and saving gas usually don't go together. It's tough to keep the foot out of the happy trigger once you start making more power

A whipple or magnuson is going to be your best choice unless you plan to run a big converter. Then the Pc is going to shine over the others.

Okay, I'll put it in perspective. You've already got a 6.0, LQ4 cable driven, 4l80e stock, and a good rear end.

Low budget: longtube headers, a TBSS intake with a 90mm TB, a cam and a good tune. You'll be haulin *** compared to stock. This is going to give you some easier air to your engine, giving you more power without sacrificing much MPG, if you're easy on it, your MPG will improve.

Med budget: low budget plus heads, maybe 243s P&P or some built ones, a large cam plus big valve springs, then N20 or a small procharger or turbo kit, bigger injectors, medium stall converter w/ a built 4l80e and built rear end to hold the power to the ground.

Big budget: built 408, built heads, big cam and springs, large turbo/twin turbo, very large injectors, 1 7/8 headers with 3" exhaust, built 4l80e, a good converter w/ a built rear end, 4 link rear suspension, meth to control FI and possibly N20, and a helluva tune. Add a roll cage and 5-point harness to make sure you live through it.

If you have a heavy foot, gas mileage is out the window. The more torque you have the easier it will be to keep MPG, but you're in a 3/4 ton so you're off to a bad start already. Start saving money my friend. Its addictive...

You keep mentioning that you're in CA, right? Unless you want to de-mod every couple of years to renew your registration, then cam, heads, headers, TBSS intake, etc is all out the window. But some guys do it, to each his own I guess.

In CA, you may want to consider a 50 states legal Magnacharger, ProCharger, or STS turbo kit. Just something to think about.
