I too have a detroit locker... not even a trutrac but a locker haha

So my frame is basically 99% done, all that's left is DAing the frame smooth and shock mounts... but until I pick up some temporary shocks to match my huge money shocks I'm done with the frame.

Wednesday I bring my frame over to my body guy to put on his machine to make sure nothing tweaked from the welding and grinding.

But now the bad... my last grind the new grinder backing plate snagged an edge sheared the backing plate whipped the disc and sheared the nut holding it on.... so I had to cut it in order to get the thing off :bawl: back to the store for another

Once I get the frame back from the shop I'll DA and get ready to prime and prep for paint. Should be dropping the cab in the next week or so, need to get my rear end and axle too.

But if you look at my setup, you see the fuel cell frame and not much room beside it, now where the stock tank was I plan on running a 5 gallon air tank against the frame on both sides, then my drive shaft in the middle of course, then I need to fit 2 3" exhaust pipes, then up between my notch and axle (keeping clear of my bags) back down and beside my cell... why not just dump it? Well stay tuned and see.

amazing man. especially for having a dud hand.

I think the one guy asked why you are going to run an e-brake bc in the plans in the first post it says a 4l80e w/ a ~3600 stall. Why the change in plans?

I thought you were staying NA. Dual 3" seems a little big for that, no?

thanks man, it's not even sanded yet!

brought the frame to my body guy to slap on his brand new frame machine to make sure that thing is still in spec after all the heat and cutting that went into that thing.

Damn I need to give her a bath!

Once I get the frame back I'll start to DA it and metal finish it, ready for paint along with getting the shock mounts on and rolling.

I use those also, but this style is much better for an even finish easy to keep it from putting low spots, for big removal I use that though.

Really, I use it for the exact opposite, I mainly use it for finishing thinner sheet metal... I don't like using the solid one piece cause I had one come apart and stick in the wall.... To each his own..

Keep up the great work!!!

actually now that I think of it, I only used the flap on a 4.5" I'm going to try on the 9"/7" yea basically all mine came apart since I was using a 9" disc with 7" backing plate... luckily no injuries... things are finicky since it didn't take much to blow them. I'll try these out on the big one
