I am finishing getting my Realtor's license, 20 years old, self taught "mechanic", blah blah blah.
I'd like to have input from you guys.

I'm working on a shoe string budget and want to go fast.
Plans for this truck include a serious diet, short bed conversion, twin turbos, hptuners, ... and anything else necessary to go silly fast.

P.s. I'm located in Kansas city mo and am currently accepting all donations until further notice.
The parts removed from my truck will be for sale once I reach 50 posts. I do a lot of craigslisting and horse trading.

Some initial specs on the truck
using my highly accurate iPhone and android pocket dyno apps I came to a 16.54 @ 79.8 MPH
Sounds fairly close to what a real drag slip might look like so I'm rolling with it.
That was with the motor at 190, 1/2 tank of gas, truck weighed in at 4620 with my 160lb self in it. All stock. kinda lame.

1 week later I had pulled the spare, rear bumper, tailgate, jack and tools, same amount of gas and I tipped the scales at 4200 even. By this time I had done an electric fan. Whipped out the pocket dynos and laid down a tire scorching 16.1 @ 90.5 MPH



3 weeks later I cut off the muffler and built an aluminum bumper, try the synthetic oil, whip out the pocket dynos and shoot for another run when low and behold I laid down a 15.8 @ 93 MPH with a 95 MPH peak. I also hit the 95 MPH governor before the 1/4 was completed. Grrrr

I'll post pics of the new bumper tomorrow
here shortly I have to sell my bed and tailgate to fund hptuners and a short bed donor for the bedsides, gas tank, and drive shaft.

I should mention on the latest run I removed a bunch of random brackets and installed a $25 cold"er" air intake.



All runs were made in drive in tow/haul mode yet I can feel my torque management shut down my party. Tires are hankook dynapro asm in 245/75-16 flavor. That's 30.5" tall and according to tire rack they weigh 43 lbs a piece!
But they are really good tires for people wanting a good quiet smooth ride and lots of miles from their tires.
I personally don't care so I'm looking for 205/50-16 fronts that are y rated and 255/55-16 sticky y rated tires for the rear. unless someone knows of a lighter combination that'll work with my stock gearing and keep my truck from redlining at 140+ mph

How does twin turbos and shoe string budget go together though LOL

I figure twin bed mounted turbos is cheaper than big displacement forged motor. It'll be fast twice! Lol
Also I'm planning on running Chinese turbos with their own oiling system in the bed to try and minimize damage when something breaks. I know it'll break eventually.

Here's the aluminum bumper I fabbed up yesterday. cost $26. Its a 10"x93" .05 sheet of aluminum shaped to fit the stock bumper cap. recessed and mounted. its cheap, light and works (surprisingly).

It will be slower in tow/haul than normal operation.

That's what I was afraid of.
In normal mode it takes about a full second to shift under wot. And it doesn't slide bang into gear. Tow haul is slightly better but I feel the nannies hitting my right foot with their rulers none the less.

I really need hptuners and would love to pick up a used setup.
