I wish I could find a 1st gen in decent shape around here... Seems like most are wrecked pretty bad or ridden into the grave. Some day Ill have one but... until then... this will be my toy! lol

Got my Circle D TC and trans mounted. Shoved everything into the Slonoma. Had to lift the front half of the cab up to make rooms but she’s in and all torqued down. The two are now one!
Definitely the exact opposite of throwing a hotdog down a hallway!
Good clearance
Hoping the front springs start settling a little more otherwise the 3” drop in the back is going to look goofy lol

you still have a ton of weight to add back to the front. also, roll it back and forth about 3'. it will probably settle some doing that.

Some more updates. Got my hands on an 8.5” rear end with disc brakes! Unfortunately had open diff so getting an Eaton Posi-Trac and 3.73 ring and pinion. Did coil relocation. Ordered radiator, dual fans, new rear suspension minus leafs since I already have the ZQ8 setup. 3” blocks for the rear. Boooo... open diff with 3.42 gears...

Coil relocation. Will play with the harnesses when the wiring fun begins.
Ready for the new goodies!

Got the box off and found 15 years of lovely Texas caliche...

All washed up

The old 7.5" out!!

Coated the frame

Got my 3.73 gears in... Just waiting on my posi diff so I can complete rear end. Swapped over the leafs and installed lowering kit and new shock absorbers. Then its putting an *** back in the Slonoma!

This should be pretty nice when finished. I've always had a soft spot for S-series trucks after owning a 2dr Blazer for 8 years. Lots of aftermarket, inexpensive parts, compatibility across multiple platforms... lots to love.

FYI, While you've got it torn apart, you may want to look into the Blazer brake swap.
