Post $LOWPOKE Build (last day with the 4.8l) - 383 Stroker goin' in

Last day with the stock 4.8l under the hood. Have a built 383 Stoker being dropped in next week: Patriot Performance 2019 Stage III Heads / 225/229 114+4 lsa PP Cam / TBSS Intake, rails, injectors TB / TruTrac Diff w 3.73 going in the rear end and a performance rebuild of the tranny as well - can't wait to give it a push.

Default New Pics of 383 build up

Stroker is dropped in and running well - thanks to Justin at BB for the tune, Tony at Automotive Performance in Fayetteville, NC for the great build, my son-in-law for dropping it in & all the guys at the shop for their work. Just have some fine tuning to do on the rear-end and the tranny and I'll put her to the test. Just (trying) to take it easy during the break-in right now. Put on the Calvert 9-way adjustable shocks this morning and some shorter bump stops to add a good amount of stability to the 4/2 McGaughy's lowering kit. Will add the Hotchkis Anti-Sway bar kit next month as well as CalTracs. Immediate need upgrade is to replace the K&N with a Volant CAI. Once the tranny is tweaked I'll have the good folks at BB re-tune the PCM for a firmer shift pattern and 39# FAST Injectors. That'll do for now, rabbit...

What is that box in line with the TB? Looks bad ***! What made you choose a 383 vs bore and stroking a 6.0? Just curious.

Thanks...

The box with the red wire loom is the X-Link needed to get full use of the full 90mm TB when hooking up to and older truck that had a 78mm OEM. Went with the 383 mainly to keep the original look of the engine compartment - didn't want to give too much away :>)

Its impossible to tell whats inside the engine...a 4.8 looks the same on the outside as a 408...

Awesome build though!

I mounted my xlink down on the water pump. Clean build. Can't wait to hear it

Not the best quality but...

Will get the exhaust lope I want once I go with the true dual system next month. Still sounds good, though IMO.

Yep...its 225/229 114+4 Just what I wanted. The audio really doesn't do it justice but going from a stock 4.8 with bolt ons to the stroker is a nice jump. I'm enjoying the break-in period...can't wait to really get on it.
