Umm a lot of people run them in trucks with no problems. There are better options, like plugs with non-projected tips. Sometimes guys running nitrous or boost have problems with blowing out spark, and a non-projected tip helps with that.

It's not about blowing out the spark. The tr6 is a projected tip plug. Think of it as sticking your arm over a fire. Eventually you'll get burned. A non-projected tip plug is whats preferred in ALL power adder applications.

Thousands of people run tr6 in their cars, trucks, and suv's with nitrous, turbo's, superchargers, etc...They get away it, but it's most definitely not the best option. Call ngk and speak with one of their knowledgeable reps and see what they say.

The plugs are the same price, projected and non-projected. If you know there is a better option for the same price, why would you not use it?

I think you have to go one step colder, to a 7, to get a non-projected tip. Not positive on this though...

I never looked for a non-projected tip in a 6, I'm running the 7's(non-projected).

Good info. The regular projected plug is #4177.

FWIW, the #7 non-projected is #3346.
