if it goes.....CLUNK or ........CRUNCH then you might have a G80.

you might have a G80 if your rear end looks like you ran over an IED.

i thought i hit an IED when mine went out..people said i was on two wheels as i attempted to do a quick U-turn sideways

glove box or the window sticker.. plus 2 i went to the chevy place were alot of my friends work and they got my vin code and ran it and it came back with everything that the truck has and it said nothing about a g80

There is a forum on here somewhere with all the codes for gears etc. But the code for the G80 is simply "G80" It will say it on the sticker in the glove box. If it doesn't have "G80" then it is an open diff, like mine was. You'll probably know though, I spun, one wheel, off the line bone stock.

most z71 have a G80. the codes are on a little white sticker in the glove box

It all depends on traction and what prm you are leaving the line at. If you leave the line spinning then guess what you will still be spinning...more. and unless you have a converter then you are leaving at the flash point of your factory stall which is bellow 2k, i dont recomend spraying anything under 2500rpms. Just wait till you hit the 60' mark.
