Default Low compression + Nitrous

I know nitrous likes high compression motors, the higher the better from what I remember reading. How would nitrous do on a 8.8:1 motor?

Do it, the squeeze doesn't really care what it is on...

yes, while the juice does like high compression better than low compression to a point, you are still going to get the hit anyways. Id say a 200shot on one of NitroDave's TB plates would work great on a certain forged 8.8:1 engine.

but when you go so high with compression, say 11.5-12:1 you have to keep the nitrous conservative. with a bigger shot you do have to lower the compression a bit. for example, if my research served me right, a 350-400 shot on a 12:1 forged engine has EXTREMELY high cylinder pressures and is begging to blow the welds on the manifold seriously though, you will probably have a nitrous backfire if ANYTHING goes wrong, very small margin of error.

Those monster purpose built 1/4 mile track cars that run 400 shots what's their compression at?

well, upon a quick research, i have found that nitrous really doesnt care about compression. but high compression + large nitrous shot = high octane race gas to keep from detonating. but more things come into play, you need a cam with a heavy exahust bias, to get the heat out of the cylinders. you need your DCR lower than normal

i found a couple of guys runnin 14:1 comp with a 300-400 shot so it can be done

I don't want to up my compression, just curious as to what the difference in power is for a 200 shot on a 10.5:1 engine vs a 8.8:1 engine with same set-up. Like how much more does Nitrous like high compression.

look at nitrous the same way you would look at any forced induction. Its all the same, and they (all types of forced induction) have perks... Nitrous for instance, requires VERY little space during the intake process, and also cools the air... other than that you are doing the same thing whether it be procharged, nitrous, turboed, or tvsed....
