hick up with a single nozzle wet kit
#1
ok so i just got my wet kit installed and i have been trying to dial it in and i noticed when i first squeeze i get a" hick up" then the power comes on strong . but and every pass after that it runs strong with no "hick up " just quick power . i am wondering if this is because i didn't hook up my purg kit yet ? so the "hick up" i feel is a quick rich conditon till the nitrous gets there ? also what afr would you recomend for a 50hp wet shot i am running ngk tr6 but will hopefully be swaping them for br6e this weekend .

Not necessarily. While plug reading will tell you what the engine wants, it isn't uncommon for AFRs to be in the low 12's while spraying. A rich condition is a good way to explode a ring land when spraying...and is often mistaken for being too lean.

I know all vehicles and plugs want different things, but we are around a 12.3-12.6 afr on the spray . Plugs check out perfect and runs great too. Was going to lean it out a hair more and see.
Now, for your 50shot. I wouldn't worry about changing plugs. Maybe just close the gap a hair.
Another way you can purge is if you have your system on a button is to bring the rpms up to around 3000 and just blip the nitrous button and your tach should climb and than come back down. if not than do it one more time.
That is how I sometimes purge into the motor if I don't want someone to know I am about to spray

You need a purge and you need to leave everything as-is and go with good pressure, fresh plugs, make a pass and shut it down after the pull, and immediately pull and read the plugs. This will tell you what's going on just as good as a wideband.
And agreed, rich conditions while spraying are just as dangerous as leaning it out
