Default Diesel nitrous

Just installed my Zex diesel nitrous system in my single cab, it has the "smartbox" under the dash, one wire that taps into throttle position sensor. I installed the box correctly, triple checked the wiring but ran into issues.

First I followed the destructions, programmed the Zex box for WOT and idle with master arm in ON. Turned master off with ignition still on per instructions, rearmed system, and tested operation multiple times, never failed to spray at WOT. I turned the truck off, went to dinner, put a baby jet in it, and retested... this time as soon as I turned the master switch to arm, the solenoid clicked like crazy on and off at idle... could duplicate this over and over...

Has anyone ran into this issue? I didn't use butt connectors on anything, soldered everything, correct wire is used for TPS.... (light blue), kinda out of ideas.

Don't have any experience with automated nitrous controllers so figured I'd ask.

Bought this kit>
ZEX

thank you for any help.

Your first mistake was buying a zex kit. My guess is that there is something wrong with the kit. Hopefully you can return it a get a better system from nitrous outlet or another sponsor.

I totally removed the whole zex system, and going to wire in my own using a momentary push button, using the master switch that was included in the zex kit.

Your better bet is to return the system but good luck if you keep it

I will be calling Zex tomorrow to get a new box, but will not be using it.

Already hooked it up to my horn relay

Got it figured out.

I tapped into the wrong TPS wire on the truck. The diesels (not sure about gassers) use 4 wire setup for the TPS, none read .50-4.5 volts or something along those lines.. I had to use the one wire that read the most about of voltage difference.. Zex told me it was the light blue wire.. it was actually the dark blue. Doh.

Setup is working normally.

Nitrous has been working great since my last post, no more issues. Still have the .088 pill in it and she likes it.
